Meet Our Staff
Blake began preaching at the First Christian Church in Noble on September 3rd, 2008. Blake’s hometown of Colchester, Illinois is a town of about 1,500 people located about 6 miles west of Macomb where he was born in 1985. Blake’s first 5 years were spent in Texas where Blake’s father was a member of the US Army. His father was gone much of the time including time spent in the Middle East during Desert Storm. In 1990 the family moved back to Colchester where Blake had a struggle in his house growing up, experiencing abuse and divorce between his mom and dad. He believes that experience just makes him a stronger Christian and a better minister of God’s word. Those of us who have heard him preach can vouch for that. Blake’s calling to become a preacher came early in his youth. He prepared for that calling attending Lincoln Christian College in Lincoln, Illinois where he graduated this past May. Although a young man, he already has 3 years of experience preaching by filling the pulpit on Sunday’s at the New Hartford Christian Church during his last three years of school at Lincoln. Also during his senior year he was invited to complete his internship at Madison Park Christian Church in Quincy, Illinois with Dr. Charles Sackett. Blake also loves serving the Lord including work at church camps. In the summer of 2008 he served as co-dean of both the Mississippi Valley Camp and the Lamoine Christian Camp. He also preached the week of camp at Lamoine. That summer Blake also began to search for a full time ministry, as the New Hartford congregation was not large enough for a full time minister. After much consideration and lots of prayer, Blake decided Noble, Illinois was where God was calling him. He is excited to be here and can’t wait to see what God is going to do with this church. The church in Noble is just as excited to have this man in our community and preaching at our church. A dynamic speaker, joyful spirit and a servant’s heart are some of his gifts that he is fully giving back in service for our Lord. If you come and hear him, you will not be disappointed. Kathy is the Church secretary and is available in the office from 8am-12pm Monday through Friday. She works extremely hard preparing the bulletins, newsletters, and doing anything to help out behind the scenes.
